27 weeks online, split into three 9-12 week modules

8-10hrs per week commitment to self study, reading, and assessment

The Sociology of Africa is delivered with a mix of learning approaches that are designed to challenge students to self-reflect and construct solutions to real-life scenarios.

Aside from mandatory live lectures each week, students will be expected to participate in online discussions and peer learning. The course combines live case study, group work, and discussion where you will be expected to apply the learning and guidance from your tutor.

Lectures and tutorials will be delivered via our online campus, along with a mix of learning methods including audio-visual materials, practical exercises, group discussions and guided reading.

Assessment will be made via a combination of a course assignment, peer engagement quizzes, and tests.

Tuition for the course is £2160

Students can pay upfront or choose to pay in 4 instalments. Instalment payments are due prior to each module.

The School of Pan African Thought Ltd is a member of the CPD Certification Service.

This course will be submitted for accreditation and certification with the United Kingdom CPD Certification Service and is therefore recognised as applicable to individuals who are members of, or are associated with global professional bodies.

A qualification in Sociology provides you with the knowledge and understanding of Africa’s complex social and cultural landscape whilst recognising how this diversity extends to the diaspora. It is an opportunity for students to challenge cultural assumptions about Africa that are inherent in western anthropological and sociological cannon. This cultural awareness, on what is the frontier market of the globe, as well as the analytical and problem solving skills are valuable to employers

Students will develop the skills through the course to build and maintain meaningful partnerships with international development organisations that are based in the continent and Pan African organisations in the diaspora and in Africa.
